MS-2-STEP ON-LINE INITIAL CONSULTATION INFORMATION
MS-2-STEP is medication prescribed by an authorised doctor for termination of pregnancy in the first 9 weeks. Two different types of medication are taken over 48 hours to cause the pregnancy to miscarry. This usually happens within the next two days by bringing on vaginal bleeding and uterine cramping. The process is successful 98% of the time and is safe in pregnancies of less than 9 weeks.
It is important that you have an Initial Assessment of the suitability and safety of this method for you. You can complete a free Initial Assessment on-line here.
At the end of the assessment we can tell you, from the answers you give, whether MS-2-STEP is suitable and safe for you. If it is and if you choose to go ahead, you will be able to forward your information to us via email, along with a booking fee, in order to have an urgent appointment with an authorised MS-2-STEP doctor. Once we receive your personal information, it is securely managed in accordance with Australian Privacy Laws, however we are not able to protect against all external email security threats. If you choose to not forward your information to us, it will not be saved and will no longer be able to be accessed by us, by you, or by anyone else.
There is no charge for using this on-line assessment. It is a service that AWARE Women's Health is happy to provide to help women. At the end of the assessment, if you choose to proceed to request an urgent appointment, a booking fee will apply. All service providers (doctors) associated with this booking service are working in private medical clinics (non government funded) and fees will apply for your care with them. Each doctor sets their own fees, but the average total out-of- pocket costs for private medical abortion services is $500.
Your appointment(s) with the doctor will either be in person or by telehealth (phone or video). This MS-2-Step service is provided by a group of accredited doctors from various clinics around Adelaide, not only the doctors at AWARE Women's Health. Your appointment request will be with one of the available doctors in this group. You will be contacted directly by them, with an appointment time and their clinic information. At your appointment the doctor will complete your health assessment, arrange any necessary investigations, prescribe the MS-2-STEP medication and information on how to take it correctly, and ensure you have support and medical supervision throughout. You will have a follow-up appointment with our doctors at the completion of MS-2-STEP to check that you are well and that the procedure has been successful.
This is the AWARE Women's Health free online Initial Assessment for MS-2-STEP.
On completing this assessment you will know if MS-2-STEP is suitable and safe for you.
